Jacqueline Behrends

Assistant Manager, Livestock

Jacqueline (she/ her) began her career in the healthcare industry, where her experiences with the disconnect of nutrition access in her community ignited her curiosity about the national food system. She worked as a cheesemonger in New Jersey where she learned more about small, artisanal dairies making quality cheeses and decided to seek out an internship at one of those farms in the Adirondacks of New York in the spring of 2019. Here, she immediately realized her passion for livestock farming, land stewardship, and connecting people to local, nourishing food. Following this cardinal experience, she completed the RIFT Fellowship Program at Rodale Institute in Pennsylvania, where she gained a deeper appreciation for organic and regenerative farming practices. Most recently she worked as a Livestock Farmer and grew into the Assistant Livestock Manager of Poultry over three years at another nonprofit farm in Pennsylvania before starting at Sky High in December of 2024. She loves nature and fellowship and is happy to work at a farm in strong alignment with her values.
